PVD clear coatings are extremely thin and hard, ideal for protecting metal without changing its form. Doming is fundamentally different because it builds a thick, curved, self contained layer that adds visible height and a lens effect. If your goal is a subtle protective sheen across a whole piece, lacquer or PVD is the answer. If you want a raised, glossy, magnified feature, doming is unmatched.
Combining doming with engraving and 3D fabrication
