Trophy cups

A trophy cup lifted at the final whistle, on the last hand of the evening or at the close of a championship series, is one of the most recognizable symbols of victory in the world. Its silhouette alone communicates achievement in a way that nothing else in recognition does, and that is precisely why the design of the object matters as much as the moment it represents.

At Fabit, every trophy cup is engineered from scratch in 3D, produced entirely in-house and built to hold its presence on a stage, in a photograph and in the hands of whoever has earned it.

Custom trophy cups built for the moment they represent

The cup form has endured in recognition for centuries because it works. It scales visually, photographs from every angle and creates the kind of moment people remember. A generic cup from a catalogue does not carry the same weight as one designed around the event, the brand and the story behind the competition. That difference is visible, and audiences register it immediately.

Fabit has produced trophy cups for international sports events, esports championships and corporate competition programs. With over 32,500 trophies delivered and more than 7,500 unique designs completed, our process is built around events where the trophy is as much a part of the occasion as the competition itself. Whether the brief calls for a centrepiece cup or a series for a multi-category tournament, we approach each project with the same structural design process.

Engineered for stage presence and lasting impact

A trophy cup has to perform in two environments: on stage and long afterwards in photographs, display cases and highlight reels.

Iconic silhouette, built to brief

The cup form is a starting point, not a constraint. We design around your event identity, incorporating brand elements, competition logos and custom proportions that make the trophy instantly recognizable as yours.

Material weight and presence

Trophy cups are produced in metal, including brass, aluminum and steel, chosen for the weight, finish and structural requirements of the design. The physical heft of a well-made cup is part of what makes the presentation moment register.

Finishing built for photography and display

Surface treatments, including polished chrome, brushed metal, precious metal plating and color accents, are selected based on how the cup will look under stage lighting and in post-event photography. Every finish decision is made with the final image in mind.

Our trophy cup process

Every trophy cup we produce follows a structured path from briefing through to delivery at the venue or event location. Here is how that process works.

Step 1

Briefing & strategy

We define your objectives, audience, timeline and budget. Together we establish the creative direction, technical requirements and scope of the project.

Step 2

Concept & 3D design

Our designers translate your briefing into detailed 3D concepts. You receive realistic visuals for review and refinement before production begins.

Step 3

Production & finishing

After approval, your trophy cup is produced in-house in premium metal. Each piece goes through surface finishing and strict quality control before shipping.

Step 4

Worldwide delivery

We handle packaging, logistics and international shipping to ensure safe, on-time delivery anywhere in the world, whether it is one piece or a full event trophy set.

Frequently asked questions

Designing a custom trophy cup for a major event generates specific questions about form, material, production timelines and how the design process handles the unique visual demands of a live presentation moment.

For event organizers and sports brands, the stakes of getting the trophy right are high, and those questions deserve clear answers before a project starts. Here are the most common questions we receive from organizers and brand teams looking to commission custom trophy cups.

The majority of trophy cups are produced in metal because the material delivers the visual weight and structural integrity that the cup form requires. At Fabit, we work primarily with brass, aluminum and steel, each of which brings different properties to the finished piece. Brass is dense and carries a traditional premium feel. Aluminum allows for larger, lighter structures without sacrificing visual presence. Steel offers durability for pieces that need to withstand handling across multiple events or touring exhibitions.

Surface finishing adds another layer of decision-making: polished chrome, brushed surfaces, gold or silver plating, and patinated finishes each create a distinct visual character. The right combination depends on the event identity, the color palette and the lighting conditions of the venue.

For a detailed overview of how we approach metal selection and finishing, the metal materials page covers the main options and typical applications.

Yes. Many of our cup commissions are for permanent championship trophies that return to the competition each year and are held by the winning team or individual for a fixed period. This creates a different set of design requirements from a single-edition award: the piece needs to be structurally robust, easy to transport safely and designed to photograph consistently across editions.

For permanent trophies, we also consider how the design will accommodate the addition of winner names or plaques over successive years, whether that is through engravable panels, removable base inserts or integrated plate systems. The design anticipates the trophy’s full lifecycle from the start.

If your competition also includes individual awards presented alongside the main trophy, championship trophies and custom trophies cover how we approach those companion pieces.

There is no fixed upper limit. We have produced cups ranging from standard presentation size through to large centrepiece trophies designed for stage presentation at international events, where the piece needs to read clearly from a distance and photograph well from across an arena. Scale is a design variable rather than a constraint, and we use the 3D concept phase to establish the right proportions for the event context.

For oversized cups, structural engineering becomes part of the design process, particularly in terms of weight distribution, base stability and the way the piece will be handled and transported. We address all of these in the design phase before production begins.

Our finishes overview also covers how surface treatments are adapted for larger surface areas, where the visual behavior of a finish can differ from a smaller piece.

Lead time depends on the complexity of the design, the number of pieces required and the finishing techniques involved. A straightforward design with standard finishing can be completed faster than a multi-component sculptural cup with custom plating. We establish timeline expectations during the briefing phase and structure the production schedule around your event date.

For events with fixed deadlines, we build in milestones for design approval, production sign-off and shipping logistics so that the trophy arrives with time to spare. Fabit ships internationally as a standard part of the process, so delivery to any event location, whether in Europe, North America or elsewhere, is factored in from the start.

Yes, and this is one of the most common requirements in the events space. Sponsor logos, competition branding, event names and edition details can all be integrated into the design at the 3D concept stage, so the final trophy reads as a unified piece rather than a standard form with branding applied as an afterthought. We work with your brand guidelines to ensure that logos and marks are reproduced correctly and at the right scale for the piece.

For multi-sponsor events, we discuss logo hierarchy and placement during the briefing so that the finished trophy respects the commercial relationships behind the event while maintaining its visual coherence.
