Contemporary design awards, tech-sector recognition and sustainability-themed programmes often look more on-brand in clean glass than in heavy sparkling crystal. Glass can also be shaped, coloured, and combined with printing and metal for striking modern pieces.
When crystal is worth it
Crystal earns its premium when the moment is significant. A single, high-status award handed over on stage, a lifetime achievement piece, a flagship annual prize, or an executive recognition gift all justify the clarity, weight and sparkle of optical crystal. The material does the emotional work: it feels important the instant someone picks it up. If the award is the centrepiece of a ceremony and will be photographed, crystal almost always repays the investment.
