A World of Warcraft inspired cosplay competition trophy in metallic silver, produced for Blizzard Entertainment.

For Blizzard Entertainment, Fabit designed and produced the championship trophy for the Creator Clash Cosplay Competition. A piece rooted in the visual world of World of Warcraft.

Metallic silver swirls define the form, with an organic and flowing geometry that references the game’s epic visual language. The surface finish is smooth and consistent, delivering the metallic quality expected from a Blizzard championship trophy.

The result is an award that will be recognised by the WoW community as an object that belongs to its world. Substantial, crafted and authentically connected to the game’s aesthetic.

De uitdaging

The WoW inspired concept required a form that balanced organic creative ambition with the production precision demanded of a championship trophy.

The metallic silver swirls needed to flow convincingly in three dimensional form. This created a geometric challenge that required additive manufacturing capable of producing compound curves at the required level of detail.

The smooth metallic finish also needed to hold consistently across the complex swirl geometry.

Materialen

The trophy is precision manufactured using additive manufacturing, enabling the organic swirl geometry that defines the form.

The surface is prepared for the metallic silver coating through a multi step process that smooths the compound curves to the required consistency.

The metallic silver coating is then applied uniformly, with the smooth surface finish assessed across the full form before dispatch.

A controlled process shaped around fantasy inspired design, complex geometry and a smooth metallic finish.

World driven design

World of Warcraft’s visual language is built on epic organic forms, sculptural energy, swirls and curves.

The trophy translates this into physical form through metallic silver swirls that communicate the game’s aesthetic without becoming a literal replica.

It is recognisably WoW, while still feeling like a premium championship trophy.

Precision manufacturing

Organic swirl geometry demands additive manufacturing to produce compound curves at the level of detail the design requires.

Surface preparation for the metallic finish is applied across the complex geometry to achieve a smooth and consistent base for coating.
